BUILDING CONSTRUCTION I
PROJECT 1
EXPERIENCING CONSTRUCTION
[EXPERIMENTING, DOCUMENTATION & ANALYSING CONSTRUCTION PROCESS]
Our task in this project is to select a on-going construction site which visibly covers most of subject topics covered in the syllabus. Our selected sites should be medium rise or low rise buildings eg. bungalow, terrace houses or maximum 4-storey building. Our chosen site is semi-detached houses located in Puncak Alam which located near Shah Alam, and my part was to do understand the construction of the doors and windows in the building.
After this project, we are able to identify different types of building elements and its construction process, details and materials. We also able to identify different building elements, which we have learnt in this module. In specific, we should be able to show and apply our knowledge in the details of the building construction drawing that we should provide a reflecting understanding of the construction itself.
We have to make documents with visual images, annotated sketches and drawings. In the documents we had to show the construction process, methods, material, site context. The documentation should be in the form of pictures, sketches, drawings and written.
What we achieved by the end of this project:

ï‚· Construction response to site context (environmental issues related to sustainable development)
Project 2
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES AND PROCESS
[INDIVIDUAL]
The design process is ongoing from conceptual design stage right through to construction. All these activities are in sequential and requires different resources such as workers, materials, machinery and plants etc. We students are required to allow demostrate of knowledge and understanding of construction, application from prior project and emphasis the exercise of visualizing construction activities and process of a
3 storeys bungalow building.
The objectives of this project are as follows:
• To introduce basic principles and procedures of construction process through a simulated project
• To understand the sequence and coordination of construction at site
• To allow student to demonstrate their understanding and knowledge of construction, material and
technology
Our task in this project is to document and illustrate visualizing construction activities and process of a 3 storeys bungalow building. The construction were documented in weeks, including Construction Activity, Duration, Materials, Equipment, Skilled Worker. The stage by stage process were also illustrated in 3D diagram, aided by the Revit software.
